Dan Abramovici is an actor/filmmaker immigrant to Canada. This background has shaped in him an interest in stories that question identity, and explore a life on the spectrum.
Dan wrote and starred in his first feature film, Ben’s At Home. After securing distribution with PNP, the feature had a successful theatrical run in Canada before being made available on Netflix in 2017.
Abramovici’s next feature script, You Have Feet In Your Shoes, picked up a Top 10 award at Cinequest, where Laurence Kasdan (Star Wars, Indiana Jones) and Dennis Lehane (The Wire, The Drop) served as writing mentors.
In 2019 Dan began to work behind the camera. liminal, which he wrote and directed, won the Best Short award at Canadian Film Fest and Snowdance International film festival, as well as an Honorable Mention at the Oscar-qualifying Dances With Films Festival. It went on to play more Academy Qualifying festivals such as HollyShorts, DC Shorts, Dublin, Newport Beach, BendFilm, and Raindance.
His followup, Play It Again, is now on the festival circuit. The LGBTQ+ comedy recently premiered at the Austin International Film Festival where it picked up the Jury Award for Best Short, making it Academy Qualifying for 2023. When it finishes its festival journey, the film will screen on Omeleto, to an audience of over 5million subscribers.

Dan started two successful photo studios: Callback Headshots, and Dan Abramovici Photography. With CBH he has worked with international productions, including cast members from Stratford, Shaw, and the Canadian Opera Company. As owner and lead photographer in DAP, Dan worked on branding initiatives for TD Bank, Scotiabank, TIFF, Toronto’s Second City, and many more.

Synopsis: SPACEMAN uses mime, stop motion, classic animation, and theatrical elements, to explore one artist’s loss of creative passion and his journey to get it back. Allied with his passion (voiced by Mena Massoud), Spaceman (Trevor Copp) has to travel through the looking glass, and battle his imposter syndrome (voiced by J.K. Simmons), in order to truly see himself once more.
