Come and meet Lola Dubettier and Roman Perset, two of the directors selected for the 13th Edition of the Festival du film Merveilleux et Imaginaire.
Lola Dubettier
Lola Dubettier was born in a dark valley. She spent her childhood between watching films and nature. At the age of 15, she entered a film school in Annecy, then Lyon. She spent 12 years working on film sets as a camera assistant.
Her cinema is devoted to the world of the invisible, using the lexicon of science fiction and fantasy, she will always be in search of worlds that we feel. A woman of images and attached to the beauty of the world, she nevertheless makes a point of working on the off-screen and the grandeur it imposes. After working on a number of non-violence spots, Okmo is her first fiction production.
Romain Perset
Romain Perset was born to a theatre lighting designer mother and a film-maker father. He entered the profession before the age of eighteen by the back door. He worked in a variety of jobs while training to be a cinematographer.
With five friends, he set up a production company, Art2voir, which now operates independently.
After fifteen years on film sets, he met Lola Dubettier, with whom he worked for ten years. Together they wanted to do more by telling their own stories.
Okmo is the fruit of this shared desire.
In the wake of this, a number of projects began to take shape, and it’s safe to say that the creative journey has only just begun.
