Meet the Filmmakers and Film Teams Attending the 16th Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire

From September 16 to 18, 2026, the 16th edition of the Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire will bring together international short films, filmmakers, producers, representatives and members of film teams at the Christine Cinéma Club in Paris.

Across three evenings of competition, audiences will not only discover the selected films on the big screen, but will also have the opportunity to meet several of the people behind them.

Wednesday, September 16 — “What We Carry Within”

The Festival will open on Wednesday, September 16 with its first competition evening, “What We Carry Within.”

For The Skin I’m in, we will be delighted to welcome Elena Vialykh — Director and Stellakis Miltiadous — Producer.

The Iranian film At night will be represented by Hassan Nozadian — Representative.

For No Wind to hold, audiences will have the opportunity to meet Mickael Abbate — Director.

Finally, Bourreau des Cœurs will be accompanied by Inès Moussard — Director and Alexandre Juhl — Lead Animation.

The evening will begin with the Festival’s opening cocktail, followed by the first competition screening.

Thursday, September 17 — “Facing Reality”

The second evening of the Festival, “Facing Reality,” will continue the competition with a new selection of short films exploring exile, grief, dreams, resilience and reconstruction.

For Lifelines, we will welcome Bruno Richaud — Director and Pascal Salafa — Producer.

HOPE will be accompanied by Jamal Ademola — Director and NIels Turelier — Animator.

Their presence will offer audiences the opportunity to discover more about the creative process behind the films and to continue the conversation beyond the screen.

Friday, September 18 — “Imagination and Its Shadows”

The Festival’s final competition evening, “Imagination and Its Shadows,” will take place on Friday, September 18 and will bring together films exploring fantasy, animation, creatures, fears and the darker sides of imagination.

For A Brushstroke (Un Coup de Pinceau), the Festival will welcome Stéphane Martinet — Director and Théo Martiner — Director of Photography.

The Russian film Don’t Dust Up will be accompanied by Soloveva Bou-Rjaili Elena, Bou-Rjaili Gaby Elie François and Arseniy Antonovich Smirnov — Film Representatives.

For El Din, we will welcome Julien Regnard — Director, Pascal Giraud — Director and Yohan stehr — Producer.

The evening will conclude with the Festival awards
