Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire in Bariloche
The Festival travels to Argentina
During its 16th edition in Paris, the Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire also travels to Argentina with a special screening in Bariloche on 18 September 2026.
Organised in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Bariloche, the screening brings together five French short films from the Festival’s 2026 selection.
Taking place on the same day as the closing night of the Festival in Paris, the Bariloche screening reflects the Festival’s international approach: allowing films to circulate simultaneously across borders and creating new encounters between cinema, audiences and cultures.

The Programme
The programme brings together five French short films from the 2026 selection:
Sulaimani

A fully handcrafted film using puppets and animated ink, presenting two intertwined portraits of Indian women from Kerala.
Le Jour des adultes (Grown Up Day)

Discovering that Santa Claus does not exist: could it be the hardest blow to our childhood dreams? Stéphane, an architect who has preserved his childlike sense of wonder, experiences an unexpected midlife crisis.
Les Bottes de la nuit
Directed by Pierre-Luc Granjon — 12’22
A poetic coming-of-age story about friendship and otherness, created using pinscreen animation.
Un coup de pinceau (A Brushstroke)
Directed by Stéphane Martinet — 19’33
Pierre, an internationally renowned painter struggling to find inspiration since the death of his wife, paints a nude that becomes an enigmatic masterpiece.
Bourreau des Cœurs
Directed by Inès Moussard, Antoine Genza, Ilian Belkilani, Sam Ripart, Alexandre Julhe and Camille Duvere — 6’00
Grégoire works for Paris City Hall removing the love locks threatening the Pont des Arts. Sophie, a convinced romantic, wants to preserve these symbols of eternal love. Together, they discover that love can mend even the most broken hearts.

The Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire is a Paris-based international short film festival dedicated to cinema exploring wonder, imagination and the diversity of artistic worlds.
