The 16th Edition Poster: A Landscape Where the Marvelous Takes Shape

Every year, the poster of the Festival du film Merveilleux et Imaginaire (Festival of the Marvelous and the Imaginary Film) sets the mood. For this 16th edition, taking place from 16 to 18 September 2026 at the Christine Cinéma Club, it invites us on a silent journey into the heart of a dream.

An image that already tells a story

Hills roll on as far as the eye can see, like frozen waves. Their slopes blaze with a thousand colours, deep purples, vivid pinks, dusk-lit oranges, in the low, raking light of twilight. And there, nestled in the hollows of the landscape, small cottony clouds have come to rest, like visitors from somewhere else. The mountain becomes sky, the sky settles onto the earth: our bearings gently reverse, and that is precisely where the imaginary begins.

This image says everything the festival stands for. The marvelous emerges when reality allows itself to be nudged one step to the side. A single cloud, lost in the grass, is enough to tip the world into fable.

The artist: Mo Eid

This work is by Mo Eid, a designer and art director based in Dubai who has been collaborating for nearly twenty years with agencies, brands, and creators worldwide. His work blends digital art, 3D design, and art direction, guided by a clear conviction: a belief in simplicity, stripping away the superfluous to keep only what is essential.

It is this restraint that gives the poster its power. No clutter, no gratuitous effect — just a gesture, a limpid idea, and an immediate emotion. You can explore the artist’s world at mo.design.
